PE Bob stepped in once again for our scheduled speaker who obviously had eye problems and couldn't "see coming in today and shared some very important information we are working on as a club. he began by saying that he received an email last night from Jake Cooper with a proposal that we will approve at the club's board meeting next Tuesday with a bar code on it for scanning so sponsors can donate online. Cover letters will be sent out to past as well and potential new donors. Various levels will be listed and let donors know what perks they will get for their donation.
We garnered $8,000 in sponsorships last year, Bob said. This year we will need more SAG station volunteers, Bob said. We should be able to bring in between $10,000-$15,000! Routes are being reworked since bikers will be taking off from Bohn Pool this fall.
PE Bob said that he and Michele attended what was formerly known as PETS (President-Elect Training Session) is nor PELS (President-Elect Learning Seminar in Kalamazoo. Every break out session was very productive.
They talked to a lot of people all over the district. People were shocked to find out that we had three colleges in our city yet, Bob admitted to them, we don't really keep in close communication with them. Bob said he would really like to work with them during his year as President. Sharing information about what Rotary is, what we stand for, and how they can be involved.
Bob mentioned that during the conference, members talked about how devastating COVID was to Rotaract Clubs across the district. This is something Bob would like to consider starting this program back up maybe even "age-appropriate" dues to attract them. He encouraged all of us to be thinking of ways we can develop stronger relationship with neighboring college students.
Bob mentioned that we are working with the City of Adrian on the Pavilion Project at Heritage Park who are very excited about partnering with us. They are proposing bathrooms at the site. Bob has also had conversations with Luke Barnett who wants to help out for just the cost of materials.
Bob closed with updating members on the proposed merger with the AM Club and that talks were still going on. However, after attending PELS, Bob said he heard that the District does not want less clubs but more and that the focus should be "how can we help them; how can they help us?" Thanks for the update, Bob.

UPDATE ON MEMBERS FROM PRESIDENT CARRIE
On Thursday, April 3rd, I reached out to Kathye Herrera to check in and see how she’s doing. Kathye shared that she is scheduled for surgery on April 25th, during which half of her liver will be removed. Following the procedure, a biopsy will determine whether cancer is present. If cancer is confirmed, she will require a liver transplant. Due to her existing lung and heart conditions, her doctors are minimizing her time under anesthesia to reduce risks. When I asked if there was anything we could do for her, she didn’t specify a request. However, I’d like to encourage everyone to send her a card to show our care and support. Kathye’s address is: Kathye Herrera12000 Packard Rd Hudson, MI 49247
Additionally, Rhonda Gage has provided an update regarding Bob Sack, who has been absent from our recent meetings. Bob and his wife, Audrey, have faced some of the challenges that come with aging and have relocated to be closer to their family for additional care. Their new address: Bob and Audrey SackAmerican House Somerset #116 3400 Livernois Rd Troy, MI 48083
Please feel free to send them a card to let them know they are missed and remain in our thoughts. If you have suggestions on how else we might honor their contributions or stay connected with them, let me know, and I will bring them to the board meeting on Tuesday.
