What a great day it was to have District 6400's newest Governor on hand, albeit virtually, to address a larger audience than we've had in the past! Assistant DG, Angie Wingerd joined us in person and did a wonderful formally introducing her and listing all of Aruna's vast accomplishments!DG Aruna began her presentation by introducing her grandson who sat through the proceedings. She praised our club for all of the good things we have done and confident that the success would continue well into the future. She recognized the passing of veteran member Helen Bendes with a moment of silence. She congratulated us on our new Centennial Clock. She mentioned Mother Theresa and the admiration she has always had for her. Aruna congratulated us on our partnership with the Delhi, India Club and the Global Grant that was approved just recently and the good work that it will accomplish with youngsters stricken by polio.
She reminded us that she will skydive on September 11th for polio! The district goal this year is $65,000! She also reminded us that the District Foundation Dinner will take place on November 13 along with District 6380.
She concluded her presentation inducting 3 new members and thanked us for the time to speak to our club today. Following the regular meeting, DG Aruna met with a number of board members on hand. Shown here in the photo with her is Aruna's husband, Shiva, who is also very involved in Rotary!
